Signs of mice

Small dark droppings in drawers and along walls, chewed packaging, nesting material made of shredded paper or insulation, and scratching in walls or ceilings at night. A musty smell in a closet or cabinet is common too.

Signs of rats

Larger droppings, burrows along foundations or under sheds, gnawed wood or wiring, and greasy rub marks along walls. Rats are more common near garbage, compost, bird feeders, creeks and alleys.

Trapping and baiting
